reasons you should love Kristen Stewart in case u are late
IT IS AN IDEA I HAD A WHILE BACK BUT IT IS ACTUALLY KIND OF FLESHING ITSELF OUT:
Manic Pixie Dream Girls as a narrative are kind of universally reviled, correct? I was thinking one day like, how do you make one AWESOME? Because movies featuring MPDGs are never ever about the MPDG herself, because she is not a person, she is an idea. And because we only see her through the eyes of fuckin Zack Braff or whatever, she is basically a blank slate.
My instinct is always to turn a blank slate character into something violent and dark and awful, so why not make her secretly terrifying??? Not in an existential way, but in a badass spysassin way.
BASICALLY MY MOVIE GOES LIKE THIS:
Note: this post was originally made in 2010 in response to Diana Gabaldon’s epic rant about fanfiction. The original version is still being updated. I’m reposting it to Tumblr by request, but if you have any additions, please feel free to drop a comment at LJ so they can be…
Can we fucking talk about this for a second?
Can we really?
Because this shit right here was the EXACT. SAME. REACTION that I fucking got when I was recovering from my eating disorder.
Folks ENCOURAGED ME TO STARVE MYSELF when I was losing so much weight.
ENCOURAGED ME.
And had nothing but mumbles for me when I called them out on that bullshit years later.
Because we really do not fucking care HOW you got skinny. Just as long as you got skinny and stayed there.
We don’t give no fuck about health. We give a fuck about how fuckable you look to mainstream.
So your ass could have damn near died, but it don’t matter doe, cuz you can fit into a size 6 now.
Concern trolls and thinspo mothafuckers can forever miss me with that bullshit
That’s an important point. When a fat person has an eating disorder, we say they’re making a ‘lifestyle change’. And it’s so dangerous.
If any of those so concerned with my health actually were, they wouldn’t have encouraged me to lose weight at literally any cost.
It is heartbreaking how many of my fat and ‘inbetweenie’ friends have suffered with this, or otherwise harmed their bodies through dieting or weight loss surgery and were supported in it by friends and family.
^ I recently hit my “healthy” weight range after losing a substantial amount of weight. Two nurses congratulated me profusely and told me how great that was and to keep it up. I was there for heart and kidney issues related to my eating disorder. People really don’t give a shit how you lose the weight as long as you’re skinny.

how dare that victim not have bulletproof flesh
how dare their body bleed out from the wound
how dare they die on the way to the hospital
those poor gunmen. their lives ahead of them in ruins because someone was inconsiderate enough to allow themselves to be shot.
you see, it doesn’t fucking work this way.
do you ever see somebody say something about a character and you just want to stick your upper half through the computer, grab their face and whisper,
“no
you
completely
missed
the point
of that character”
and then slowly slide back into the computer while staring at them

Here it is! I’m not 100% sure if I like how it came out… it almost seems a bit too cutesy for the subject. Maybe I just like drawing cute clothes and bright colours too much!
This is for a contest with the Canadian Human Rights Agencies for their conference in May. All the Advanced Illustration students and Design students had to enter as part of their final. Kinda pissed that they required us to print it off at 24 x 36…. which I think is way too big and expensive ($50!!) for most students and their budget. We don’t even get to keep the posters. And the top prize is only $200. I feel kinda ripped off. :/
EDIT: A couple of people have sent me notes saying that “Transgendered” is incorrect terminology. I apologize, I kind of added the text last minute, and should have known better. I’ve uploaded a fixed version. :)
This poster is a good reminder that pronouns aren’t “preferred”. They’re NECESSARY.
‘get back in the kitchen’
sure
be sexist and send me back to a room full of sharp things, poisons, cleaning agents and food I can hide all that shit in
I’ll go back in the kitchen
but you’re leaving the house in a bodybag
And the award for best response to “get back in the kitchen” goes to this post.

I’m really confused by Louis C.K. like
he says really awesome things and I’m like “hey! you get it!”
and then he says really shitty things and I’m like “??????”
